Our client is:

A major freight forwarder headquartered in Sydney, with offices in Melbourne and China.  Having built a major presence in the airfreight market, they are now looking to grow their seafreight business with a focus on LCL and FCL imports. They aim to deliver a seamless customer experience supported by a proprietary digital platform.

The role: 
We are looking for an experienced seafreight operator with a minimum of 3 years experience in sea and air imports. The right candidate will be given significant opportunities to grow and take part in building an exciting global platform. You will be working in a dynamic team looking to improve how freight forwarding is done.

The details:
You will be a primary point of contact for customers; responsible for managing and operating the lifecycle of import freight. This includes:  
  • Proactively coordinating the movement of shipments, working closely with overseas branches/partners
  • Timely and accurate freight forwarding shipment processing (registrations, cargo reporting, shipment updating, invoicing etc.)
  • Collaborating with customs brokers and operational teams to ensure smooth handling of cargo through to final delivery
  • Update and answer customer inquiries on shipment status
The ideal candidate
  • Ambitious, proactive and a proven operator who is capable of getting things done
  • Confident and a well-mannered communicator
  • Experienced with Cargowise, 1-Stop and ICS Customs Portal
  • Mandarin speaking (preferred)
  • At least 3 years experience in a similar role
